Morality
Principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour.
Ethics
Moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour or the conducting of an activity.
Sanctity of Life
The view that all life is sacred because it is made by God.
Quality of Life
The standard of health, comfort, and happiness experienced by an individual or group.
Rules
One of a set of explicit or understood regulations or principles governing behaviour.
Natural Moral Law
A system of laws based on close obervation of human nature, given to humans by God.
Precept
A general rule intended to regulate behaviour of thought.
Reason
The power of the mind to think, understand, and form judgements logically.
Absolute
A value or principle which is regarded as universally valid.
Situation Ethics
The view that there should be flexibility in the application of moral laws according to circumstances.
Relativism
The view that morality exists in relation to culture, society, or historical context, and is not absolute.
Agape
Unconditional love, “the highest form of love, charity” and “the love of God for man and of man for God.
Abortion
A procedure to end a pregnancy.
Pro-Life
Opposing abortion and euthanasia.
Euthanasia
The painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease [terminal illness] or in an irreversible coma.
