Q
Describe one world religion’s teachings about final judgement (5)
A
- In Christianity Christians are taught that all of humanity will face judgement. This will happen when Jesus returns (Second coming, parousia)
- Evidence for this judgement can be found in one of the parables of Jesus known as the Parable of the Sheep and Goats
- He will separate the people as a Shepard separates sheep and goats. On the right are the sheep who are righteous and will go to heaven because they helped ‘the least of God’s people’
- Likewise The Goats On the left will be damned for not feeding, watering, clothing, visiting and welcoming
- Full of indignation, those goats didn’t see an opportunity to see Jesus in the ‘least of God’s people’. The punishment is hell and reward is heaven
