STems from similiar epistemic background to neorealism aka both make foundationalist claims about the nature of humanity
states are ley actors and the world is anarchic
States seek international cooperation
Complex interdependence good as it makes war more costly & therefore less likely
and facil;itates trade
believes non state actors are important too

What are the problems with democratic peace theory?

DPT doesnt mean that liberal states will go to war less often, just against democracies
maybe democracies dont fight each other in similiar other ways?
