A

supported by the intellectuals who had lost faith in liberals. (Believed corruption, rural poverty and widening gap between masses and ruling class could only be solved by socialism.) southern peasants moved to North. PSI was active in taking their message to Italy’s poor in the public places they gathered in.

Because he realised he could use WW1 to help him achieve his political goals(of coming to power) so started expressing more nationalistic views.
