What 4 groups did the liberals try to help?
Young, sick, old and unemployed
Why were the school meals act not so successful?
Local authorities were allowed to provide them by raising taxes but law didn’t force them to provide meals
Why were the reforms important?
They marked change in government and made them realise that they should have more responsibility by helping those who couldn’t help themselves

1908

5 shillings per week
How much did a married couple receive?
Seven shillings and a six pence
Why was act not entirely successful?
People who failed to work or are in prison received nothing. It also wasn’t enough, it barely provided necessities. It helped but it wasn’t the answer, they needed it before they were 70 etc
