Liberty/freedom: freedom of individuals (e.g. from
government interference); ‘limited government’, the idea
that government power should be restricted

Equality of opportunity: All individuals should have equal
chances in life

Individualism: Tolerance for the diversity of individuals;
individuals are unique and have equal value, and should
therefore have equal rights

Pupil premium (extra money for schools with disadvantaged students)

Scrapped Conservative plans for compulsory national ID card

Referendum on more democratic election system (failed)

However….

Failed attempt at a more proportional voting system (AV)

Failed attempt to get elected House of Lords

Increase in university tuition fees, despite LibDem campaign pledge
