words with opposite meaning

What is a paraphrase?
phrase with same meaning as a word
ex: producer of texts (writer)
What is an ad-hoc paraphrase?
words and phrases referring to the same thing or person IN THE TEXT
ex: the writer and novelist, the author, Joanne K. Missgeburt
What is metonym?
substitution of one word for another word closely associated with it
ex: to pen (to write)
What is synecdoche?
substitution of one word for another that it is a part of or vice versa
ex: harry potter (character name to refer to book series)
