A lever is a simple mechanism.

What are the three types of levers?
A
Class 1, 2 and 3

What is the layout in a Class 1 lever?
A
The load and effort are on opposite sides of the fulcrum.

What is the layout in a Class 2 lever?
A
The load and effort are on the same side as the fulcrum sharing the weight with the load, with the load closer to the fulcrum.

What is the layout in a Class 3 lever?
A
The effort and load are both on the same side as the fulcrum/pivot but the effort is closer to the load.

A
Moment (Nm) = Force (N) x Distance (m)
