Q

What is the levels of processing model?

A
  • explains how memory works and opposers the view that there are set memory stores
  • explains what we do with the info rather than how it is stored
  • how deeply we consider or process info dictates how long it lasts
  • info received will be transferred to the LT a memory and remembered more if:
    > considered
    > understood
    > has meaning
  • how much the info is considered is called depth of processing
  • the deeper it is processed, the longer the memory trace lasts

Q

What are the disadvantages of the levels of processing approach?
