Why did you use a dictaphone?
I personally find the audio description the most consice way of making site notes, which I can refer to in chronological order.

It indicated that it was a historic crack and therefore could not be questioned as caused by the building owners works.

What are the three categories of damage to properties?
Visual appearance or aesthetics.
Serviceability and function.
Stability.
How many categories are there?
6 = (0-5)
How does the category relate to the damage?
Categories 0, 1, and 2 refer to (i) aesthetic damage.
Category 3 and 4 relate to (ii) serviceability and function.
Category 5 relates to (iii) stability.
What do you do with the photos and notes you have taken?
- Securely store them on our system within their own folder
Why was the astroturf and retaining wall a health and safety risk?
Because the astroturf/tarmac was a trip hazard- particularly as children used the areas.
What did you do following the inspection (William Morris Astroturf)?
I instructed the Contractors to remediate the works as a matter of urgency, and before they start they must horde off the areas to prevent any access.
Did this cost the client additional money (Wiliam Morris Astroturf defect)?
No, these were patent defects that had to be dealt with by the Contractor.
