Letters to the churches (collection) Flashcards
Romans 1:20
There are things about God people cannot see - his eternal power and all the things that make him God. But since the beginning of the world those things have been easy to understand by what God has made. So people have no excuse for the bad things they do. NCV
Romans 5:3-4
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. ESV
Romans 6:4
When we were baptized we were buried with Christ and shared his death. So just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the father we can also live a new life. NCV
Romans 8:27
God can see what is in people’s hearts. And he knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit speaks to God for his people in the way God wants. NCV
Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. NIV
Romans 14:1
As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but do not quarrel over opinions. ESV
Romans 14:10
So why do you judge your brothers and sisters in Christ? And why do you think you are better than they are? We will all stand before God to be judged. NCV
1 Corinthians 1:8
Jesus will keep you strong until the end so that there will be no wrong in you on the day our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. NCV
1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. NIV
1 Corinthians 6:12
I am allowed to do all things, but all things are not good for me to do. I am allowed to do all things but I will not let anything make me its slave. NCV
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. NIV
2 Corinthians 6:6-10
We show we are servants of God by our pure lives, our understanding, patience, and kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by true love, by speaking the truth, and by God’s power. We use our right living to defend ourselves against everything. Some people honor us, but others blame us. Some people say evil things about us, but others say good things. Some people say we are liars, but we speak the truth. We are not known, but we are well known. We seem to be dying, but we continue to live. We are punished, but we are not killed. We have much sadness, but we are always rejoicing. We are poor, but we are making many people rich in faith. We have nothing, but really we have everything. NCV
2 Corinthians 10:12
We do not dare to compare ourselves with those who think they are very important. They use themselves to measure themselves, and they judge themselves by what they themselves are. This shows that they know nothing. NCV
Philippians 2:5-11
In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus. Christ himself was like God in everything. But he did not think that being equal with God was something to used for his own benefit. But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born as a man and became like a servant. And when he was living as a man, he humbled himself and was fully obedient to God, even when that caused him death - death on a cross. So God raised him to the highest place. God made his name greater than any other name so that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus - everyone in heaven, on earth, and under earth. And everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and bring glory to God the Father. NCV
Hebrews 4:12
Gods word is alive and working and is sharper than a double edged sword. It cut all the way into us where the soul and the spirit are joined to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings of our hearts. NCV
