Lesson 5 - Holiness Principles 1 Flashcards

- Holiness standards are an external sign that what has taken place?
An authentic work of salvation and subsequent Christian maturity.

They are dealing with the judgement of an individual who has been accused of sin.
- What is modesty?
Restraint in the way the body is covered or decorated, so that the flesh is not accentuated.
- What principle did God institute before sin entered the world?
The principle of distinction of the sexes.
- Why do men and women have different standards of holiness?
Because they were created differently and have different temptations or danger zones.
- In general, what are men and women stimulated by?
a. Men ___________________
b. Women ________________
a. Sight
b. Touch (either physical or emotional)
- Using the human body as analogy, demonstrate whether internal or external holiness is more important
Internal holiness is much more important than external holiness, in the same way that your internal organs (heart, lungs) are far more crucial than your external organs (eyes, ears). However, in a normal, healthy body you want to have both!
- What is it a fatal error to do?
Preach external holiness standards without preaching internal holiness standards.
