Poetry-
The use of technical terms, idiom, dialect, new words, and connotation to express the feelings of the writer.
Meaning
To express something in a different way aside from its literal meaning.
Figurative Language
Consist of descriptions and details that can trigger the reader’s senses (sight, hearing, smell etc.)
Imaginery
the emphasis of certain words or rhymes
Sound
the position of beats or the sound pattern of the work.
Rhythm
relates adventures of a hero with supernatural powers.
Epic
This refers to a song that is transmitted orally from one generation to another.
Folk Song
These are considered statements that teach ideas on morality and tradition.
Proverbs
It can be described an object in entirely different manner or in a way that it is not easily understood.
Riddles
Usually has four lines with 5-12 syllables per line.
Short Poems
It is the dramatic skill of debate. It may also involve marriage negotiations between two families.
Poetic Jousts
Focuses on chivalric, folkloric, legendary, and religious themes
Metrical Romance
It is written in a stanza with 5 lines with 8 syllables per line, recounts the life of Jesus Christ.
Pasyon
