Lesson 4 Flashcards
It investigates relationships between variables without the researcher controlling or manipulating any of them.
Correlational Research Design
It reflects the strength and/or direction of the relationship between two (or more) variables.
Correlation
It is used to test strength of
association between variables.
Correlational Research
It is used to test cause-and-effect relationships between variables.
Experimental Research
In this research, variables are only observed with no manipulation or intervention by researchers.
Correlational Research
In this research, an independent variable is manipulated and a dependent variable is observed
Experimental research
It is a set of statistical processes for
estimating the relationships among variables
Regression Analsysis
Three types of Regression.
- Linear Regression
- Multiple Regression
- Logistic Regression
It is a parametric test of difference.
t - test
It makes the same assumptions about your data as other parametric tests.
t - test
Types of Parametric t-test.
- Paired t-test
- Independent t-test
- One-sample t-test
- One-tailed t-test
- Two- tailed t - test
It is a statistical analysis method that does not assume the population data belongs to some prescribed distribution which is determined by some parameters.
Non-paremetric test
It acts as an alternative to a parametric test for mathematical models where the nature of parameters is flexible.
Non-parametric test
Types of Nonparametric t-test
- Wilcoxon-Signed Rank Test/ Sign Test
- Mann-Whitney Test
It is a statistical method used to test differences between two or more means.
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
