Lesson 4 Flashcards
It fails for the system of equations in which D = 0 since for finding the values of unknowns, D must be in the denominator and hence these values go undefined.
Cramer’s rule
It is the most familiar method for solving a system of linear equations. It consists of two parts which are elimination phase and solution phase.
Gauss Elimination
It is the refinement of the Gauss elimination method.
Gauss-Jordan method
It is a procedure for converting a matrix to reduced row echelon form using elementary row operations.
Gauss-Jordan elimination
It is one of the iterative methods for approximating the solution of a system of n linear equations in n variables.
Jacobian method or Jacobi method
It is an iterative method used to solve a system of linear equations. It is similar to jacobi method.
Gauss-seidel method
