ERIK ERIKSON
If the child receives reliable, consistent and predictable care, they will develop a sense of trust that enables them to feel secure even in the presence of threat and carry this within them to other relationships as they grow. In contrast, if the needs are not met, mistrust, suspicion and anxiety may develop in an individual.
TRUST VS. MISTRUST
If the parents are always there for the baby, he will become a person who cannot believe anyone would mean him harm and that results in over trust.
TRUST VS. MISTRUST: MALIGNANCY
If mistrust developed, it will result in withdrawal characterized by depression, paranoia and possibly psychosis
TRUST VS. MISTRUST: MALADAPTATION
