Lesson 3; Unit 1: Metrics Flashcards
Remember them
Mass
The amount of matter in an object (does not change due to gravity); measured in grams
Volume-liquids
Amount of space an object occupies; measured in liters; graduated cylinder/beaker to measure
Volume - irregular solids
Total water after object is dropped - volume of original water
Density
Amount of matter that occupies space; g/m^3; g/L; density = mass/volume
Temperature (freezing and boiling point and the SI unit; what scale)
Kelvin; use the Celsius scale; freezing point of water: 0C; boiling: 100C
Concentration
Amount of substance per defined space; weight by volume or volume by volume
List the classification order from highest to lowest
Giga, mega, kilo, hecto, Deka, base unit, deci, centi, milli, micro, nano
