What are rain forests ?
Forests that have large amounts of rainfall year round
What are two types of rain forests ?
Temperate and Tropical
What is the emergent layer of the rainforest ?
The tallest layer of the rainforest
What is below the emergent layer of the rainforest
The canopy layer

The understory
What is below the understory ?
The forest floor
What is a grassland biome ?
An area that is populated mostly by grasses and other non woody plants
What is a savanna ?
A savanna receives as much as 120 centimeters of rain each year
What are deciduous forest biomes ?
An area that receives at least 50 centimeters of rain per year
What are boreal forest biomes ?
Forest biomes that can be found in the northern hemisphere
What are tundra biomes ?
An area that is extremely cold and dry
What are the six major biomes ?
Desert,rain forest,grassland, deciduous forest,boreal forest, and tundra
