This also includes traditions or living expressions inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants.

Characteristics of Intangible Cultural Heritage
- Cannot be physically touched
- Ephemeral
- Heritable
- Constantly being created by communities and groups
- In response to their environment
- Sensitive to change
- Great range of variance
- Traditional, contemporary and living at the same time
- Inclusive
Means transitory or lasting only for a short while.

Why is cultural heritage highly variable?
Since it is the individual that practices and benefits from the legacy. It is received according to the manner of the receiver, depending on his personality factors.
Why is Intangible Cultural Heritage important?
The importance of ICH is not the cultural manifestation itself but rather the wealth of knowledge and skills that is transmitted through it from one generation to the next.
