Lesson 2 Cell Division Flashcards
This is the process that cells go to order to divide
The nucleus splits and DNA is replicated
Cell division
Associated with growth and cell replacement
Process of cell division which mother cell into daughter cells, diployed number of chromosomes
Mitosis
It is associated with sexual reproduction
Mother cell device equally into two cells having each half
Meiosis
2 Stages of life cycle of a cell
Interphase and mitosis
It is replication of genetic materials takes place
Also, the parent cell makes a copy of its genetic materials of each daughter cell
Interphase
Stages of interphase
1) gap 1 or preduplication stage - beginning of DNA application
2) S or synthesis stage - replication of DNA and protein takes place
3) G2 or postduplication stage - DNA replication trigger mitosis cell
It is on going with interphase also genetic material is equally distributed to the daughter cell
Mitosis
What are the stages of mitosis?
• Prophase
• Metaphase
• Anaphase (early anaphase, late anaphase)
• Telophase( early telophase, late telophase)
Cell hypertrophies. Increase in staining ability with acid dyes. darker nucleus to condensation
Prophase
Complete absence of nuclear membrane and appearance of spindle fibers
Metaphase
Separation of two chromatids from one Chromosome
anaphase
Area separation daughter committed is narrow
Early anaphase
The chromatids are already in the opposite poles of the cell
Late anaphase
Appearance of cleavage furrow on the cell
Early telophase
Cytokinesis. Appearance of two daughters cells lying adjacent to each other.
Late telephase
