whole practice
repeating the whole series of actions over and over to perfect them
part practice
used when skill is low in organisation and can be broken down into sub routines.
whole-part-whole practice
action is practiced as a full then broken down into the elements and then finally practicing it all again
progressive-part method of practice
learning several sub-routines from the whole movement. Each part is practiced with the next link added each time
massed practice
when no rest intervals are given between each component of the training sessions
distributed practice
when a rest interval is added to allow recuperation. feedback, advice and coaching can be given during the interval
varied practice
using different methods to achieve a learning goal or performing a task in different situations
fixed practice
involves a stable and fixed environment where conditions remain fixed
