Is an act establishing the National Service
Training Program (NSTP) for tertiary level
students, amending for the purpose Republic
Act 7077 and Presidential Decree 1706 and for
other purposes.

Guiding Principle in establishing NSTP law
Section 1 of R.A. 9163 affirmed that it is
the prime duty of the government to serve
and protect its citizens.
Who are eligible to enroll in nstp
All incoming first year students, male and female,
starting School Year (SY) 2002-2003, enrolled in
any baccalaureate and in at least two (2) year
technical-vocational or associate courses, are
required to complete one (1) NSTP component of
their choice, as a graduation requirement.
All higher and technical-vocational education
institutions must offer ————-) of the
NSTP components.

Each of the aforementioned NSTP components
shall be undertaken for an academic period of————– semesters. It shall be credited for ————– per semester, for fifty-four (54) to ninety (90)
training hours per semester.

Schools that do not meet the required number of
students or do not offer the component chosen by
the students, shall allow their students to cross
enroll to other schools, irrespective of whether
such school is under CHED or TESDA.
Section 7. Clustering and Cross-Enrolment
No fees shall be collected for any of the NSTP
components except basic tuition fees, which
shall not be more than ————– of the
charges of the school per academic unit.

A student who unofficially drops NSTP after
obtaining his/her midterm grades, shall be given
a grade of ————— at the end of the term.
The NSTP implementer shall be responsible for
the final grade of the students.

have successfully complied with the program

CHED, TESDA or DND
is organized under the

Coordinating Council (NDCC). It

level of organization parallel to
the Disaster Coordinating Council
(DCC) structures at all levels.
