Define Division of labour
Refers to the process of breaking down a task into smaller tasks and each worker performs a separate task given his own tools and equipment
State 3 advantages of division of labor
1.Quality will be enhances as an employee masters the skill
2. Productivity will increase which will lead to increased productivity of the organisation
3. Less time consuming as workers can perform work at a faster rate since their skills will be improved.
State 5 disadvantages of Division of labor
- Loss of craftsmanship
- Loss of interest as employee will get bored of repeating the same task
- Difficult for an employee to find another job easily
- Quality may decrease if employee looses out on motivation due to the repetition of the same task
- If an employee is absent the entire production process may come to a halt
