Contradiction
The relationship that exists between A and O statements, and I and E statements.
Contrary Relationship
That which exists between the universal statements A and E.
What is the defining factor for a contrary relationship?
It is not possible for both statements to be true. However, both statements can be false at the same time.

What is the difference between contradiction and contrariety?
Contradictory statements can’t both be true at the same time, and can’t both be false at the same time. On the other hand, contrary statements can’t both be true, but can both be false at the same time.
