Social change
Refers to change that occurs in a society and not at an individual level, occurs when the minority view challenges the majority view and is eventually accepted by the majority

Brought about by being:
Committed, Consistent, Flexible
Snowball effect
Social crypto-amnesia
Processes of social change
-once majority has accepted minority viewpoint people may conform to the viewpoint due to normative social influence and/or informational social influence
-governments and lawmakers can bring about social change through power and process of obedience
-dictators can also bring about social change through obedience, leads to groups of people changing their behaviour because of the fear of punishment/consequences of not obeying
