what is a shoreline management plan
-large scale report, assessing the risks associated with coastal processes
-aims to reduce these risks
-main objective is to identify sustainable long term management for the coast
what is a Integrated Coastal Management Plan (ICMP) or (ICZM)
a process for the management of the coast using an integrated approach, regarding all aspects of the coastal zone, including geographical and political boundaries, in an attempt to achieve sustainability.
guidelines were set out in the Agenda 21 document.

what is maritime spatial planning (MSP)
a process that brings together multiple users of the ocean – including energy, industry, government, conservation and recreation – to make informed and coordinated decisions about how to use marine resources sustainably.
what is agenda 21
a non-binding, voluntarily implemented action plan of the United Nations with regard to sustainable development.
It is a product of the Earth Summit (UN Conference on Environment and Development) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992.
