Ottawa was selected as capital of Canada because of its location incase of an American invasion. it’s located on the boarder of Canada east and west

Montreal, Quebec City, Kingston, and Toronto

new Brunswick, canada east, canada west, and nova scotia
what were the federal government responsible for
responsible for things that involved the whole country such as criminal law, military, and postal services

being able to police their own civil laws, manage their own education, and collect taxes

political deadlock is when members of the house vote against each others bills. therefore no new bills were being passed

to make canada more self-sufficient but still be loyal to the british incase of war or other conflicts
why were canadians afraid that americans would invade canada?
due to Britain’s actions and support of the southern states during the course of the civil war. if northern American colonies joined forces with Britain then the United States wouldn’t attempt to invade.

if the provinces of Canada east, Canada west, nova scotia, and new brunswick joined together

Farm products: potatoes, rye, buckwheat, maple syrup, and livestock.

canada west had immigration from England, Scotland, Ireland, and the united empire loyalists who came from the USA in support of the British Monarchy. Lumber was important. and important industries were grain, lumber, fruit, textiles, and machinery.

fishing, lumber, shipbuilding, mining
