What is the different of Medicare and Medicaid?
Medicaid- provides health coverage for some low-income people
medicare- is the federal health insurance program for: People who are 65 or older. Certain younger people with disabilities.
What does it mean to have dementia?
a general term for loss of memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking abilities that are severe enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia.
What are the typical tasks of a nursing assistant?
Feed, bathe and dress patients, Serve meals, make beds and keep rooms clean
What are some task that a nursing assistant DOES NOT perform?
Inserting and removing tubes, give tube feedings, and changing sterile dressings.
What does being professional mean?
A professional is someone who displays high levels of expertise and efficiency Showing compassion for others demonstrating respect for others
What does being dependable mean?
capable of being trusted
What does being Accountable mean?
by clearly defining the company’s mission, values, and goals and an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s actions
What does being empathetic mean?
the ability to sense other people’s emotions, coupled with the ability to imagine what someone else might be thinking or feeling.
What is part of proper personal grooming by a nursing assistant? (How should you look at work?)
- hair should be pulled back away from the face
- Nails should be trimmed
- hair should be of natural colors
- Scrubs should be clean
- use as little to no perfume

What jewelry is acceptable to wear while caring for residents?
1 pair of earings

The nurse in the care team is responsible for what?
They are responsible for providing pre- and post-operation care. monitoring and administering medication and intravenous infusions. taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures.
What does person-centered care mean?
empowers people to take charge of their own health,This can mean putting the person’s needs, as they define them, above those identified as priorities by healthcare professionals
