Organism
A single living thing
What does an organism get from its environment?
Food, water, shelter, and other things it needs to live, grow, and reproduce
Habitat
An environment that provides the specific things an organism needs to live, grow, and reproduce
What are two parts of an organisms habitat?
Biotic factors (living) and abiotic factors (non-living)
How is an ecosystem organized?
Organisms, populations, communities, and ecosystems
Species
A group of organisms that can mate with each other and produce offspring that can also mate and reproduce
Population
All the members of a species living in a particular area
Community
All the different populations that live together in an area
Ecosystem
The community of organisms that live in a particular area, along with their non-living environment
Ecology
The study of how organisms interact with each other and their environment
