What is globalisation?
- Refers to the process by which the worlds economies, societies and cultures have become integrated through a global network of communication, transportation and trade
Factors driving globalisation?
- New technology, communication and information- info sharing, mobile phones for LIC’s
- Global Financial Systems-transmission services allow lending and flows of money
- Transport systems- global transport network, movement of people. Without issue of time and space there are opportunity as well as threats
- Security- Reduction in significance of traditional security measures.
- Trade agreements- Global trading rules. WTO oversees 97% of world trade
