Lesson 1 Flashcards
What is Sketch?
A vector drawing application intended for designers of all sorts.
Vector graphics are made up of ____.
points.
Vector graphics are made up of points and those points have mathematical curves applied called?
Bezier curves. The Bezier curves dictate the shape of the curve regardless of the size its being viewed at.
Vector graphics are made up of _____ and Raster graphics are made up of ____.
points. pixels
T or F: The autosave feature automatically stores your saves as separate versions that you can go back to.
True
Which type of graphics are made up of points and bezier curves and are infinitely scalable without losing quality?
Vector Graphics
Bitmaps are made up of ___.
pixels. There raster graphics.
Which border position will not increase the total size of the object that it is applied to?
An inside border is contained within the original dimensions of the shape, leaving its size alone.
T or F: An object with a blending mode applied to it exports with it’s blending mode.
False
The Background Blur effect is meant to be applied to what type of object?
Shapes. Apply Background Blur to a shape to affect the objects behind it.
The two types of text boxes on the inspector are auto and what?
Fixed
T or F: Character Spacing allows you to increase or decrease the space between lines of text.
False
T or F: Paragraph Spacing increases the space between lines of text when the Return key is used to break one line of text to the next.
True
T or F: Fractions of pixels cause unsharp edges on export.
True
Which keys can be held in order to keep your selection when dragging to move, no matter where on the screen you drag?
Option + Command
Compressed or Uncompressed? : TIFF
TIFF is an uncompressed file
Digital version of a printed sheet of paper that retains its vector nature of vector objects.
EPS
If the person you’re sending the file to does not have sketch, use EPS. It’ll allow them to still edit the file in different editing software.
SVG
Scalable Vector Graphic. The web standard for vector graphics. eg.) icons, logos
Compressed or Uncompressed: PNG?
Uncompressed format for graphics. Standard format. Bigger file than jpeg. Supports transparency.
Compressed or Uncompressed: JPEG?
Compressed file. Smaller file but colors may shift called banding. Not good to save if color is important.
T or F: Layers can be exported into folders automatically by putting the name of the desired folder followed by a forward slash at the beginning of the layer name.
True
T or F: By default, slices only export the content of the group that they are contained within.
False
