15
Q

What contributes to air, water, and land pollution?

A

Air pollution : exhaust from cars pollutes the air with carbon monoxide
Water pollution: trash, sewage, oil spills
Land pollution: trash, hazardous wastes, solid wastes

16
Q

What are strategies to reduce the ways you contribute to pollution?

A
Don't throw trash out your car window.
Throw things in trash cans
Recycle, reuse, and reduce
Carpool
Dispose of hazardous wastes correctly
Don't put trash in water
17
Q

How does pollution effect the environment?

A

Water pollution:Kills animal in water, makes people sick if they swim in a contained body of water
Air pollution: smog makes people sick, destructed the ozone layer, if ozone layer is gone, you can get skin cancer
Land pollution: effects the soil, gets in the way, hazardous wastes can cause death, or injury

18
Q

What are the 3 rs?

A

Reduce reuse and recycle. Reduce means to use less. Reuse means to use that product again if able to, and recycle means to put things like paper, metal and plastic in recycling bins to be able to be made into something else.

19
Q

What are some actions individuals can take to protect the environment?

A

They can reduce reuse and recycle

Pick up trash on the ground

20
Q

What are non renewable resources

A

Resources that can’t be replaced once they’re used.
