Statistics is the science of collecting, organizing, and interpreting data.
* Statistics are the numbers or other pieces of information that describe or summarize something.

A
A census is a way to find and record
information about every member of a
population.
It’s a term mostly connected with
national information although the
term can refer to well-defined, smaller
populations.

A good statistical question should…
A
- clearly state the variable(s) of interest (more on this soon).
- clearly state the population of interest
- consider all variable values (in other words it should
appreciate that values will differ) - be answerable with the data at hand (or data that will be
gathered) - be worth answering
