Lession 1 Flashcards
Continuous measurement measures what?
Measures the behaviour.
4x Continuous measurement types
IRT- (Inter response time).
Duration.
Latency.
Frequency.
Continuous measurement- IRT measures?
Time in between.
Continuous measurement- Duration measures?
How long behaviour lasts.
Continuous measurement- Latency measures?
How long response after SD request.
Continuous measurement- Frequency measures?
A count of the behaviour.
Discontinuous measurement captures?
Does not capture all the behaviour.
Discontinuous measurement- partial interval captures?
If the behaviour happened at least once.
Discontinuous measurement- whole interval captures?
Behaviour happening entire time.
Discontinuous measurement- momentary time sampling measures?
Observing behaviour at specific time.
Why do ABC use Data & Graphs?
To see the progress over time with client.
Preference assessment is what?
Figure out what client is motivated for. Example- Holding up two items.
ABC Data records what?
Records behaviour before, after and during.
What is DTT?
Discrete trial teaching.
Who leads Discrete Trial Teaching?
Instructor led. It has a clear beginning and end.
Discrete Trial Teaching- What are the two steps?
Target response- Response we are promoting.
Consequence- End of trial (Reinforcer/Correction)
what is naturalistic teaching?
Taking opportunity of teaching in natural environment.
What is an example of naturalistic teaching?
Child struggles with verbal skills. Use race car to promote verbal teaching- ‘ready..set..’
What is chaining?
Taking a task and breaking it up into several different steps- Teaching it step by step.
Chaining- what is forward chaining?
Moving through task- Start to finish.
Chaining- What is backwards chaining?
Task that you are teaching independently is at the end.
Chaining-What is total task?
Working through entire task with client.
What is shaping?
Breaking things down into multiple steps, changing when you reinforce. That moment then becomes extinct.
What is discrimination training?
Teaching learner to discriminate between two different things.
What is an example of discrimination training?
Put colours out ‘pick blue’ and let client pick (with or without prompt) and finish with reinforcement.
What is stimulus control?
Changing a stimulus control from on print to another until independent response.
What is an example of stimulus control?
Prompt fading- ‘Clap hands’ by modelling it, until just vocalising it.
Explain 3 different types of prompting.
Most to least prompting.
Least to most promoting.
Errorless promoting.
