Éléments of Passé Composé

A

Present tense of avoir + past participle:
If infinitive ends in -er (donner), replace with -é (donné)
If infinitive ends in -ir (finir), replace with -r (fini)
If infinitive ends in -re (descendre), replace with -u (descendu)

Present tense of être + past participle:
Reflexive verbs, «to ___ oneself»

A group of verbs that refer to/involve physical action without a direct object; etre «He came down»; avoir «He came down the stairs»
The past participle must agree with the subject (masculine, feminine and plural)
