Produced electrons bounce around & produce fuzzy rings. Produced muons move straight through the medium & produce clear rings.

There are electron 1:2 muon neutrinos created, and equal matter & anti-matter neutrinos.

How do cosmological & astrophysical obervations constrain neutrino masses?
The CMB power spectrum limits the sum of all masses to 0.13 eV, but cannot distinguish flavours. We can also use large scale structures (similar to dark matter) & supernova detections.
What detectors do we use to detect neutrinos?
- Trackers Layers with heavy targets & scintillators
- Liquid Scintillators Good for low neutrino energies, looks for IBD. We can see photons & charged particles cause scintillation, as well as Cherenkov.
- Water Cherenkov Heavy water & PMTs let us distinguish between different particles by the rings they make.
