Lens Flashcards
Lens
Focuses the light entering the camera. The different length determines the Focal length of the lens which is the distance between the two points in the lens.
What are the two points in the Focal Length of the lens.
The Nodal Point and the Sensor/ Film plane
Focal length of the lens
The distance between the two points in the lens.
Nodal Point
optical sensor of the lens where the light crosses.
Zoom Lens
Incorporates many focal lengths in the lens.
Normal Focal Length
Angle of view is normal human eye view and as the mm decreases the view increases.
- 50mm: Most Basic
- 35mm: wider
- 63mm: narrower
Wide Angle Focal Length
- Shorter than normal lens: theres more info in lens.
- Wider view : greater than human view
- Used for panoramas.
- as focal length gets shorter the angel of view gets wider
- Shorter lens means more distortion: barrel Distortion.
What are the 8 different Focal Lengths for a Wide Angle Lens?
28mm 24mm 22mm 18mm 13mm 12mm 11mm 7mm
Fish Eye Lens
Wide angle
No set focal Len
Extreme Distortion
360 Angle view
Telephoto Lens
Isolation and magnification
- longer and etremeley narrow
- Fixed Focal Length
What are the 8 Focal Lengths for a Telephoto Lens?
70mm 80mm 105mm 135mm 200mm 300mm 500mm 1000mm
