-divided into small cramped apartments shared by multiple working class families
How was class warfare extended?
-extended to rationing in civil war
-share depended on work value - soldiers + workers got most
-professionals less + Burzhui least
What was the reprieve in the class battle?
-reprieve in ‘class war’ when NEP formed 1921
-realise soviet Russia need Burzhui specialists + capitalists input for econ growth
-but this didn’t campaign halt against them

-creating a conscious proletariat
-important step in creating ‘soviet (socialist) man’
What was the soviet man?
-publicly engaged + committed to community
-social responsibility + willingly give service to state
-be selfless, learned, healthy, muscular + enthusiastic in spreading communist rev
What happened to the workers in society?
-given internal passports preventing leaving
-1921 workers jailed or shot if missed targets - unions used to control workers + seen as rev enemy
-hashing working + living conditions continued throughout NEP
What was proletarianisation?
-to turn mass population to urban workers
-masses needed be proletariats to create socialist state - no capitalists
