Theodicy
proposed the idea of theodicy attempting to reconcile the existence of evil, with an all-powerful, all-knowing, benevolent god

Despite the apparent presence of evil in the world, the universe is the best passive world that God could have created
Harmony and Perfection
Everything in the universe was interconnected in a pre-established harmony, like a grand divine plan
The principle of sufficient reason
Everything, including God’s actions, have a reason/explanation.
He argued for the principle that there must be sufficient reason for everything that exits or happens, including God’s choices in creating this world
God as the ultimate reasoning
God’s existence didn’t require any explanation b/c God’s existence was fundamental and self-explanatory
