There are ALWAYS two representatives for the Senate per states.
How many total members are in the Senate?
There will ALWAYS be 100 members of the Senate.
How long is a Senator’s term?
6 years
Who is the presiding officer for the Senate?
The Vice President, but the President Pro Tempore stands if the VP can’t be there. (Most often, the President Pro Tempore works as the head.)
What special duties do the Senate have?
It approves treaties, and confirms Presidential appointments.
Who acts as a jury in impeachment?
The Senate
What duties and powers do BOTH the Senate and the House of Representatives have?
Make laws, pass bills, declare war, override Presidential veto, post offices, copyrights, patents, taxation, Elastic Clause, spending decisions…(No money can be spent without Congress’s confirmation.)
