What condition does the government place on mining tenements
Each tenements has its own individual list of specification and restrictions which the applicant is obliged to follow
Requirements to meet the Annual Expenditure Licence
- Condition is exclusively related to prospecting licence, exploration, licences and mining leases. The condition states a prescribed minimum annual expenditure which may occur on the tenement land area
Annual Reporting of Activities
- Holders of Prospecting Licences, Exploration License, Retention Licences and Mining Leases must report and lodge activities
Royalties
- A production report must be lodged monthly as soon as mineral production on the tenement begins. A royalty, as previously agreed, is payable on all minerals other than gold
Fees payable
- the tenement holder is oobliged to pay a tenement application and rental fee to the government is order to obtain, maintain, and tenement rights and ownership
Purpose of the Native Title Act 1993
- Formalise the procedure regarding investigation of native title land rights and how to proceed should native title exists on the land
- Provide recognition and protection of land if a native title exits
- establish methods and standards for future dealings with native title land areas
- Establish effective mechanisms for determining native claims
- Provide, or permit, for validation of past acts overturned because of the native claims
