Ensure that nobody comes to harm due to your failure to act.

Store, Handle, Use and Dispose of all chemicals and substances following manufacturer’s instructions and local bye laws.

Remove, Label and Report faulty equipment.

Ensure all training is given on new equipment and all equipment is PAT tested every 12 months.

Supply any necessary PPE equipment, free of charge.

Ensure you wear the supplied PPE when needed.

Bend at the knees, keeping your back straight when lifting objects. Do not lift anything too heavy or big on your own.

Ensure any accidents are reported to someone in charge and entered into the accident book.
List the PPE available to the stylist and client.
Stylist - gloves, apron, goggles and mask
Client - gown, towel and plastic cape.
What is a hazard?
Something that has the potential to cause harm.
What is a risk?
What can happen because of the hazard. It can also be rated at low, medium or high.
What is contact dermatitis?
Inflammation of the skin. A skin condition usually caused by an irritant.
What is the name of the chemical form of sterilisation used in salons?

What is the name of the moist heat form of sterilsiation used in salons?
