Q

CDM, Childrens Home, WSCC - What were your duties under the CDM regulations 2015?

A

My duties as a designer are to take in to account PCI, design with risk elimination, reduction and control in mind and review designs in the same manner.

21
Q

CDM, Childrens Home, WSCC - What were the PD’s duties under the CDM Regulations 2015?

A

Plan, manage and monitor H&S in pre construction. Advise client on bringing together PCI. Work with designers to eliminate, reduce and control risk. Liaise with PC.

22
Q

CDM, Childrens Home, WSCC - How did you review risks throughout the project?

A

The PD utilised a design risk register, and held monthly design risk meetings throughout the project to review designs to eliminate, reduce or control foreseeable risks.

23
Q

CDM, Childrens Home, WSCC - Provide an example of a risk highlighted and how it was reduced or eliminated?

A

Relocation of PVs from a flat roof to a pitched roof making them more accessible to clean from the ground rather than having to work at height.

24
Q

CDM, Childrens Home, WSCC - Who is responsible for raising an F10?

A

The client, however the PD raised this on behalf of the client in this case.

25
Q

CDM, Childrens Home, WSCC - Why was an F10 required on the project?

A

The project was due last longer than 30 days with 20 people on site consecutivly.

26
Q

HDP - What did you have to consider in terms of sound for ASHP within the project?

A

Planning requirements - As this was a local authority client the installation fell within permitted development, as long as the units did not exceed 200m3 and they were below 4m in height.
In other situations planning would be required where PDR does not apply, considerations may mean that additional acoustic testing may be required.

27
Q

HDP - If the ASHP installation did not fall within PDR, what would be required?

A

If planning was required the LPA would likely require a sound impact assessment that will measure existing from neighbouring property window and utilise manufacture information of proposed unit db. The LA will be looking for a low impact depending on context. Mitigation methods include moving the unit, provide screening or acoustic enclosure. I would refer to acoustic consultant.
