WESTMINSTER SYSTEM
Is the British system of Parliament which is Bicameral (two houses and a crown) in its nature.
PARLIAMENT
Is made up of all the elected representatives in both the upper and lower houses.
GOVERNMENT
Is formed by the party or coalition with the majority of seats in the lower house.
Political Party
Most MPs belong to a political party where members share a common set of values of beliefs and work towards a common goal.
Cabinet
Cabinet consists of the leader of the government and senior ministers who determine which laws and amendments are to be discussed in Parliament.
Seats
An absolute majority is required to form government meaning 50% + 1 of seats in the lower house
A simple majority is 50% of seats in lower house and independent members form an alliance with a major party to determine government
