Sufficiently specific enough for a surveyor to locate the exact dimensions of a particular property.
What are Metes and bounds?
it is the oldest method of legal description and the most accurate when used with current GPS system technology.
How do you use Metes and Bounds?
Uses compass directions and distances (metes) to describe the perimeter of a property’s boundaries (bounds). It starts and ends at a point of beginning using monuments.
What is a Recorded Plat?
also known as lot, block, and subdivision, is used in urban residential areas to describe property in a subdivision.
How do you use a Recorded Plat?
it divides a large parcel of land into blocks and lots on a plat map, which is filed in the public records of the county where the property is located.
What is government survey?
also known as rectangular survey it divides land into squares and rectangles
How do you use government survey?
it is measured from the intersections of principal meridians (north and south lines) and base lines (east and west lines)
