Left Turning Tendencies Flashcards

1
Q

What is P-Factor?

A

It is responsible for asymmetrical relocation of the propellers center of thrust when the aircraft is at a high angle of attack.

Q

What is Torque?

A

It is the opposite and equal reaction from the propeller turning clockwise. EX. If the jolly green giant grabs the propeller of the plane the plane will spin counter-clockwise.

Q

Propeller Slip Stream

A

The alternation in the airflow which causes the airplane to yaw left and roll right. EX. Airflow Corkscrews fuselage

Q

Newtons First law

A

If an object is at rest it will stay at rest or moves at a constant velocity unless acted upon by net force. EX. “An object at rest will stay at rest. An object in motion will stay in motion.”
