Lecture 9 Flashcards

1
Q

3 principles of networks analysis

A
  • nodes and their behaviours are mutually dependent
  • ties between nodes can be channels of transmission of both material and non-material products
  • persistent patterns of association among nodes create structures that can define, enable or restrict the behaviour of nodes

Q

types of centralities

A
  • degree of centrality (sum of value of the ties between a node and every other node)
  • closeness centrality (length of path of a node to all other nodes)
  • betweenness centrality (number of shortest paths in a network that pass through a node)
  • eigenvector centrality (connection with an actor of power)
