Lecture 8: Anatomical Framework of the Pelvis Flashcards
What is the primary joint, and three primary ligaments between the sacrum and ilium?
Joint= Sacroiliac joint Ligaments= Dorsal sacroiliac ligament, Ventral sacroiliac ligament and interosseous ligament
What are the major joint and ligament structures involving the anterior medial section of the pubic bones?
Joint= Pubic symphysis Ligaments= Superior pubic ligament and inferior (arcuate) pubic ligament
What are three key vertebropelvic ligaments? For that 4 or 5, what are the other ones?
Sacrotuberous ligament, sacrospinous ligament, illiolumbar ligament.
Also:
-Anterior longitudinal ligament (connect L5 to the sacrum)
-Obturator membrane
-Inguinal ligament (runs across the anterior superior iliac spine to the pubic tubercle)
What is the male and female sub-pubic angle?
can be greater than 80 for females, and roughly 60 for males
What are the two main pelvic shapes?
- Gynecoid
2. Android
How big is the suboccipital bregamatic diameter of the fetal head?
8.5-9cm compared to the frontoccipital diameter (10-11cm)
What are the main muscles of the pelvic diaphragm?
(ischio)coccygeus and levator ani
What are the main component muscles of the levator anI?
1, illiococcygeus
- Pubococcygeus
- Puborectalis
