how to configure a background image for pathfinder

A
  • upload the image from a site or a source to arcmap
  • zoom into the area you want to analyze, such as UNC campus
  • set the data frame projection… should set it to WGS84 in class
  • export your map as an image . tiff and a resolution, and ‘write world file’
  • load the background image into pathfinder and confirm projection
  • Utility -> Transfer : will upload the image to your Trimble GPS receiver
  • in terrasync, you can turn on the background option to load the image
