Lecture 7B Flashcards
1
Q
Methods used for protein structural analysis?
A
NMR, X-ray crystallography, Electron microscopy
2
Q
What resolution does NMR allow?
A
High resolution (< 3.5 A) protein structures in solution, allows you to look at their native structure in a biological buffer
3
Q
NMR can indicate what regions?
A
Dynamic regions of a protein, conformational changes, interactions
4
Q
What size proteins is NMR limited to?
A
40 kDA (300-400 AA’s)
5
Q
The quality of a protein structure depends in part on?
A
“Resolution” of structure aka the minimum distance two objects can be apart and still be seen as 2 separate objects
